Our new identity verification tool empowers businesses to validate that the person being screened is exactly whom they claim to be and not AI-generated or someone acting on their behalf. This adds an extra level of security to the screening process.

When taking advantage of this new feature, candidates will go through a simple identity verification process that utilizes facial recognition paired with government-issued documentation. Backgrounds Online then utilizes this information, personal identifiers, court research, documentation verification, geolocation data and more to compile a comprehensive consumer report for you to review.

With a focus on the candidate’s experience when using our portal, the identity verification process takes only a moment to verify their identity during background check submission. Once we confirm that their identification documents match a quick selfie, they’ll proceed with providing the usual datapoints we need to start the screening. Additionally, the candidate may log in to access the status of their background check via our Applicant Portal throughout the process.

Documentation provided to us during the identity verification process is secured in the same manner as all other sensitive data utilized during background screening. To ensure this, we undergo annual organization control audits for security and confidentiality as well as industry-standard accreditation with the Professional Background Screeners Association.

Getting Started

Once enabled, any screening package that includes identity verification will prompt the candidate or employee at the beginning of our existing Applicant Self Submittal process to verify their identity. We’re very excited for this new product launch and we’re looking forward to adding a new layer of protection for all.
